Be Yourself

Be Yourself

Be Yourself

Have you heard the story of Bhatke hue devta (भटके हुए देवता)?

I saw this signboard as I was paying my obeisance at the Gayatri Mata Mandir at Shantikunj Haridwar.

For once I could not understand which deity was being referred to by this name.

I walked upto the place only to find a large mirror facing me beneath the board 🙂

I read the board again and saw myself in the mirror –
भटके हुए देवता 🙂

All of us have gone through this phase of not being sure of the next step – a confusion between what is right for me vs what others think is right for me!

And many of us spend our entire lives doing what others feel is right.

You know what is the biggest challenge we face?

It is to be yourself in a world where everyone is trying to make you be somebody else*.

As I glanced around, I saw Sohum and Shivohum written on either side of the mirror.

Sohum, meaning I AM
&
Shivohum (I AM akin to Lord Shiva)

-I am that whom the almighty has incarnated in human form.
-I am a sadhak who has been given an opportunity to perform Sadhna (self refinement) in this life.

Then why should any prescribed task be difficult for me?

Lord Brahma offered us this supreme life (
मानव योनि ).

HE has bestowed us with tremendous powers enabling us to achieve anything and everything.

Want to become an … ?
Want to venture into … ?
Want to start a new … ?
Want to change your … ?

Have faith, you have what it takes.

Be yourself.
