Break the rules

I have been following a disciplined routine over the last few months. I wouldn’t call it very strict for I may skip it once in a while every month.

I adhere to a schedule in terms of morning exercise and my meals.

I exercise 4 – 5 times a week, have my morning breakfast around 9 am and my dinner at 7 pm (I eat lunch as well – just in case you thought I am done with 2 meals in a day!)

I am off to sleep by 10:30 pm which enables me to wake up fresh at 5:30 am the next day.

The last few days of June were crazy.

My sister and my two nieces were in Gurgaon to spend time with us. We had 4 teenagers in the house (including the 2 junior Bansal’s) with all kinds of activities lined up.

We gorged on all types of food with absolutely no concern for the quantity and timing (in house and outside).

We had 2 late night movie screenings which meant I hit the bed by 1 am and woke up pretty late the next morning.

I had a blast.

It’s ok to break free once in a while.

It’s ok to have an extended cheat meal.

It’s ok to skip your exercise for a week.

But, it’s not ok to let resistance take over once the party is over.

My sister left on the 19th and I am back to my routine as I write to you (writing this mail on the evening of 20th June).

We may need to deviate from our schedule once in a while but it’s important to bounce back, quickly!
