Follow your heart

I still have his number saved as CBL Mohit Gupta.

It’s been 5 years when I first attended an event hosted by Mohit Gupta – an innovator, a great organiser and an excellent orator.

He started the City Book Leaders Club – a place where authors were invited for a book reading session and a discussion.

I attended a few sessions in Delhi and Gurgaon before Covid forced everyone to get into an online mode.

The physical sessions went live again last year, albeit under a different name. His organisation is now known as Frob (Friends of Books!).

The innovator in Mohit came up with a different idea lately.

He’s teamed up with GMR to set up a vibrant space at Aerocity Delhi where he hosts all kinds of sessions including book launches, painting workshops and qawwali.

The venue is aptly known as “Utsav”

I was there for one of the book launches last week.

My friend Anand Dwivedi (He/ Him) had also accompanied me to the venue and was surprised as to how Mohit makes money through these events (there wasn’t any fee to attend the event).

Mohit smiled.

He told Anand that he runs another business which makes him good money and the Frob venture is his passion!

I asked him on his choice for Aerocity.

“Vikas, I want to portray Utsav as the soul of Aerocity.
There are tens of places within Aerocity for your body in terms of cafes and restaurants.
Let there be one for your mind :)”

It was wonderful to have met the passionate man after a few months.

I came back inspired!
