Nothing to lose

Nothing to lose

Small insignificant decisions

I had absolutely nothing to lose..

These were the exact words of Sanjeev when I asked him the reason for the success he has achieved over the last 10 years.

I spent a couple of hours with him this Tuesday when he was in Gurgaon.

I have known him for long – right from the time when he was making a paltry amount in his job.

Sanjeev Thakur started his business at Mohali (Chandigarh) when he ventured into the real estate sector as a broker. He invested a lot of time and money on his professional growth (including some of my programs!).

He worked with integrity, built strong relationships and developed a good team along the way. He’s done phenomenally well and today is a name to reckon with in the real estate sector in Mohali.

In a couple of years he also started a salon and will be opening a 3rd salon this year.

Why salon?

He always loves to explore new opportunities – that’s what all of us need to do specially in today’s dynamic world.

He shared with me his plans for the next 1 – 2 years. I asked him what motivates him to achieve more? Is it money?

He says by God’s grace he now has enough money for himself and family. He has more than 50 employees today and feels blessed to run a profitable business which is able to support the livelihood of 50 families.

He wants to grow his business to support many more families in the near future.

We certainly need more people like Sanjeev!

I was reminded of the famous dialogue from the movie Anand –

बाबू मोशाई ज़िन्दगी लम्बी नहीं, बड़ी होनी चाहिए।
