I happened to speak recently to my NIT batchmate Ravi.
We have a mutual respect and admiration for each other.
Ravi works for a reputed organisation and absolutely loves his job. I am in awe of what Ravi has been doing in the agri space apart from his regular job.
Ravi likes my oratory skills (believes I am one of the best professional speakers in Delhi) and the guts to have left a regular job to make a mark in the training space.
Interestingly, the conversation pivoted towards success principles and I wanted to hear from him.
He summed it up in 2 points.
The first attribute he spoke about is being fearless.
Fearlessness can be due to one or a combination of factors including being skilful in one’s work, giving your best and having a positive mindset.
It takes time to become skilful. Lots of time.
Giving your best requires determination. Lots of determination.
And having a positive mindset does not mean that things will turn out okay. Rather it is knowing that You will be okay no matter how things turn out.
That’s how You become fearless!
Being fearless can lead to arrogance once in a while and thus the second trait which always needs to be remembered is being grateful.
Ravi has a fairly sized farm holding where he employs a few people. The salary/ wages in the farm sector continue to be a few thousand rupees a month but they are a happy lot despite their low income.
He says he feels grateful for all his privileges whenever he interacts with those people.
Being fearless and grateful!
