the Youngistan generation

the Youngistan generation

the Youngistan generation

I had never imagined it until a few years back.

It is for real and is here to stay.

I was in for a surprise when I met a few milennials at Gurgaon.

I had a lot to learn from the likes of Dhairya, Pragya, Medhavi, Karan, Mahima, Vikramaditya and Medha.

What makes these milennials special?

They were people in their early to mid 20s (oh no, one is still a teenager!) and are already making inroads in their professional endeavours.

A few of them were in a regular job while others work as freelancers.

One common thing among them was about living their passion.

This comes to me as a surprise for in my mid 20s I was only concerned about earning money, money and some more money, somewhat like Chatur Ramalingam (remember 3 Idiots?).

The second thing I liked about the milennials was they not being interested in conforming to the majority.

They did not want to suffer like Farhan (3 idiots again – the person who wanted to be a photographer).

One was into destination weddings, the other into sneakers and one purely into content creation!

I am sure they had to face a lot of resistance from the Virus Sahastrabudhi’s in their friends and family, but they survived.

And finally, these milennials were making a mark for themselves and creating a strong personal brand on Linkedin – the new Rancho’s of this world.

I had a great evening.

The ego of an IIM grad with 20+ years of experience may not allow him to publicly say that he learnt something from them.

Let me admit, I actually did 🙂

To all my Youngistan friends – you are awesome.

Our country’s future is in safe hands.
